Alberta Denturist Order of Merit

Nominations are now open for the Alberta Denturist Order of Merit. Nominations must be received by a regulated member in good standing with the College.

The nominee must meet all of the following:

• Must have 10 years or greater of practice as a denturist or contributing to the advancement of the denturist profession.
• Must have provided 5 or more years’ service to the profession (outside of independent practice). This does not equate to five fulltime years of service, rather, that the individual has been providing the service to the profession as required for at least five calendar years, such as being a member of Council, committee, etc.
• Is a current or former member of the College who is/was in good standing with the College at the time of registration.
• Has provided contribution(s) to the advancement of the denturist profession.

Nominations must be received by the College by August 30, 2020.  All nominations must include a completed nomination form and evidence in support of the nomination.  Evidence must include at least one of the following in which the nominee:

• is a current or previous student preceptor
• is a current or former instructor in an approved program
• provides or provided continuing education to the denturism community
• is a current author of article(s), relating to clinical, laboratory or practice management which have been published in dental-related journals
• has a history of community service both within denturism or within the community-at-large

All received nominations will be reviewed and deliberated by the Council, with the awarding to the individual(s) who receive a majority vote by the Council. If Council is of the opinion that there is not a suitable candidate, the Council reserves the right to not award the Alberta Denturist Order of Merit for that year.

A recipient will be notified by letter and an announcement made at the 2020 Membership Meeting on September 18, 2020.
