Call for Volunteers

The College is looking for denturists to enact self-regulation and volunteer for various opportunities.

Registration Committee
The Registration Committee is a group of regulated members which has a two-fold mandate:

• To deliberate and decide on applications for registration that have been referred to it by the Registrar. This includes all applications from internationally trained practitioners.
• To manage the Continuing Competence Program and perform the upcoming CCP Audit which will be held annually starting in 2021. Please see the article on CCP Updates in this issue of bytes for more information.

The College is looking for up to two denturists to fill vacancies on the committee.

Hearing Tribunal/Complaint Review Committee Roster
This roster of regulated denturists works with members of the public provided by the government to deliberate on matters that have been referred to hearing or appealed through the Complaint Review Committee.  The College must maintain a larger roster of regulated members in order that those chosen for a given assignment are not in conflict either with their own schedules or with those being the subject(s) of the proceedings.

EQual Accreditation Surveyors
EQual (Accreditation Canada) is looking for denturists and educators to volunteer as accreditation surveyors for denturism programs. As the College transitions to the process, we are asking anyone who is interested in this rewarding volunteer opportunity to step forward.

Volunteering on accreditation surveys is something that can benefit all – not just the program being accredited. Through this, you learn more about your profession (whether you’ve been practicing for 3 years or 30) and make professional contacts coast to coast.

Volunteering for this opportunity will put your name into the pool for all denturist schools being accredited.  There are two parts to an accreditation:

• Document review with a teleconference (or sometimes two)
• On site visit to the program site
