Registration Renewal for 2022

It’s renewal time again!

Renewal opens October 1 and goes through to November 30.  Please remember:

  • denturists who plan to continue working as a denturist in 2022, must renew their permit. If you are changing jobs or roles and aren’t sure if you still need to be registered, please contact the College.
  • in order to renew for 2022, you are required to have professional liability insurance for 2022. Please talk to you provider to ensure that your policy is renewed.
  • all regulated members are required to have CURRENT CPR in order to renew. This must have an in-person component for assessment of skills. If you have completed this, please ensure that your new certificate and dates are entered in your College profile.
  • Your registration renewal application cannot be approved until all requirements for renewal have been met and received by the College – this includes receipt of funds payable for your registration fees.

Please remember that the practice of denturist is not limited to providing direct patient care and services, but includes the following:

  • designing, constructing, repairing, altering and fitting any complete or partial denture for the purpose of restoring and maintaining function and appearance;
  • teaching, managing and conducting research in the science, techniques and practice of denturism; or
  • providing restricted activities authorized by the regulations.

What if I don’t renew within the renewal window?

The renewal window closes at 11:59 p.m. on November 30, 2021.  Those who have not yet renewed will be subject to an additional administrative fee.  All renewals must be approved by the Registrar in order to have a valid practice permit on January 1, 2022.  Regulated members are reminded that the College will be closed over the holiday season and processing times will be slower.

Pursuant to the Health Professions Act (HPA), those who have not renewed by December 1, 2021, will receive a 30-day notice of suspension of their practice permit.

What if I don’t renew by December 31, 2021?

As per the HPA, your practice permit will be suspended, and you cannot practice. Those who are suspended, will have until January 31, 2022 to reinstate your practice permit with an additional administrative fee.  If you do not reinstate by this time, your practice permit will be cancelled. If you wish to practice, you will be required to complete a new application for registration. You will not be permitted to practice while the application is in process and until it is approved by the Registrar.
