Changes in the College Office

As many of you may know, Karen Irwin our previous Administrative Assistant and Hearings Director is no longer with the College. Karen finished up with her role back in May and on behalf of Dacia, Lloyd, the entire College Council and our members we send our heartfelt thanks for the many years Karen spent with the College assisting members and staff. Her warm smile and friendly demeanor will be missed but we wish her all the best in the near future as she transitions into a new career.

College Council has appointed Tammy Akers as our Hearings Director, effective immediately. Tammy comes to us from the College of Registered Dental Hygienists of Alberta where she works as the Executive Assistant and Hearings Director. Tammy is well versed in the Health Professions Act and has experience handling hearings for a regulatory college. Tammy has started her on-boarding process and we welcome her to the College and thank her for assisting us in this role for the time being. Details will be coming in the near future about a new College staff member so keep an eye out on the upcoming newsletters for more details.
