Council Connection - Social Programs

Council has had discussions this fall about the news that some oral health professionals are choosing not to provide care to patients whose funding is through various government social programs. They understand that the decision to not provide this care is a difficult one but is predicated on the fact that the reimbursements are well below the level where the denturist would be adequately compensated for their time and materials in managing the case.

In response to this concern, Council’s public members wrote to Adriana LaGrange, Alberta’s health minister, to bring their concerns forward to government.
