Council has approved new COVID-19 practice guidelines that replace the June 2020 document. These are effective July 14, 2021.
On July 1, 2021, the Government of Alberta removed many of the remaining COVID-19 public health measures. In this, they specifically put the onus of providing practice guidance to regulated members with the respective Colleges. The Colleges have the authority to create and enforce any practice measures.
In this revised guideline document, you will see that much of the previous direction has been removed to align more with provincial public health guidance and emphasis has been placed on continuing to complete and document a Point-of-Care Risk Assessment.
Mandatory requirements are still in place for PPE, although the requirements are determined according to risk and the procedure or service being performed by the denturist. These requirements are outlined in the guidance document.
