Registration Committee

The Registration Committee is a statutory committee, composed of regulated members, that deliberates and delivers registration decisions on matters referred to it by the Registrar.  What does this mean?  Well, sometimes, registration decisions are not cut and dry or we receive applications from internationally-trained denturists, and the Registrar enacts self-regulation and convenes the Registration Committee.

The committee meets one to two times per year for deliberations and education on your legislated requirements and authority.  Meetings are in Edmonton and your expenses would be reimbursed as per College policy and you will be financially compensated for your time preparing for the meeting (if required), travel to and from and your time in the meeting itself.

Exam Question Writers

The College develops and delivers a high-stakes registration examination each year. To ensure that the exam speaks to practice today, new questions are developed each year.

The College will be holding a question writing workshop in Calgary on November 22 – 23, 2019.

This workshop will be led by our psychometrician who is the testing expert that the College contracts for our exam processes.  Through this process, you will not only learn something about your profession you didn’t already, but you’ll make connections with other denturists that you may not have yet known.  Time for this workshop may be counted towards your Continuing Competence Program requirements. Your expenses will be reimbursed as per College policy and you will receive remuneration for your time spent in the meeting.

We need 10 -15 people for this session. If you are interested in participating, or would like more information, please contact Dacia at drichmond@abdenturists.ca.

Member surveys

If you aren’t able to join a committee right now, please consider responding to surveys that the College sends out to members. These surveys are sent because we need your input to shape your profession over time. Time spent on these surveys can be used towards your Continuing Competence Program requirements.

Currently, the validation survey for the competency profile is available for your feedback.  The competency profile is the foundational document by which school curriculum and the registration exam are developed.  Your expertise as a denturist is needed to ensure that the document is relevant to today as well as the immediate future as this document is usually reviewed and revised every five years.
