What does the CCP look like in 2027?

The revised Continuing Competence Program (CCP) starts September 1, 2027. Prior to that, the College recognizes that denturists are in various stages of their five-year cycles and a transition phase is needed for everyone.

To ensure continuous professional growth without creating a heavy burden during this shift, we are using a proportional requirement for the gap period.

Here is what you need to know:

  • The Gap Requirement: Practitioners will be required to complete 7 continuing education learning hours during the 8-month transition window. (This is calculated directly from our previous annual minimum of 10 hours per year).
  • Deadline: All 7 hours must be completed and logged by August 31, 2027
  • What Counts: Standard professional development and learning activities that met our previous guidelines will continue to count toward these hours.

Why are we making this change?

Moving to an annual cycle allows us to focus on steady, continuous improvement rather than cramming requirements into massive multi-year blocks. This 8-month bridge helps us align our schedules before officially launching the new 1-year cycle on September 1, 2027.

If you have any questions about tracking your hours or what courses qualify, please reach out to the College at info@abdenturists.ca.

Thank you for your dedication to maintaining our standards of quality and practice!
