As you may be aware, Council has worked hard through 2021 to review the process for selecting new members of Council. After an extensive round of research (including speaking with a variety of other regulatory colleges in Alberta), Council has decided to move forward with an appointment process for open Council positions.
Council will be shifting their recruitment efforts to a SKILLS BASED appointment process. This new process will allow Council to identify skills they’d like to see added and work to recruit. The application will (in addition to your clinical background as a denturist) ask for other skills that you could potentially bring to the Council table. As our regulatory environment is constantly changing, Council has identified that the skills and needs of Council members too have changed and this process will help select the best possible candidates.
Any regulated members in good standing are encouraged to review the new process and complete the application package. It will be reviewed and evaluated by a sub-committee of Council overseeing the recruitment and appointment process and a recommendation will be made to Council for final selection and approval. Council and College staff will hold information sessions shortly in the new year. We encourage anyone interested in learning more about the new process, requirements or just would like a chance to ask questions about the role, time commitment or any other questions related to the process to attend.
The application package may be found here: Council Application Package.
