CCP Validation

Participation in the Continuing Competence Program (CCP) is a mandatory aspect of registration for regulated members on the general register.  Members must maintain compliance with the program, and are asked to attest to this, in order to renew their practice permit for the upcoming year.

There are two components to the College’s validation process:

Quantitative Validation

At renewal, each year, the College team ensures that each denturist has recorded the minimum amount of required learning to satisfy the requirements of their CCP. A renewal is not approved, without condition, without this CCP requirement being satisfied.

Qualitative Validation

Annually, this process validates a representative sample of the regulated membership for compliance with the program.

Members may be selected for validation through two avenues:

  • Random selection through the College’s registration system, or
  • Directed, with due cause, by the Registrar, Registration Committee, Complaints Director or Hearing Tribunal.

The Registration Committee assesses each selected CCP to ensure compliance with the program requirements. Denturists are subsequently notified of the status of their validation and remedial work completed, when necessary.
