COVID exposure? Now what?

As healthcare workers, the questions that you ask around COVID-19 and its implications on your work, and your ability to work, are very important and may differ from some of the information you have been able to find.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) has put together some scenarios that may apply to you or your staff.

From this page, you also have a link to a Decision Chart that will help you navigate those scenarios that aren’t included in the article above.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns or need assistance navigating this, please do not hesitate to reach out to the College.

Update for your COVID-19 Screening Form

Please remember that you must follow the College’s Guidelines for Return to Practice which state that a screening must be done BEFORE the patient comes into the clinic and then again when they arrive.

The College is now suggesting that you add the following:

  • Have you or anyone in your household been tested for COVID-19?
  • Are you or anyone in your household currently awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test?

A response of “yes” to either of these questions should result in further investigation by the denturist.  If someone is awaiting results, they should not attend to the clinic until they have a negative COVID-19 result.
