PLI Audit

On February 12, 2020 all regulated members received notice of an audit of their professional liability insurance (PLI). At renewal, all members declared that they had PLI for 2020.  The College is doing its due diligence in light of the shift of PLI responsibility to the member from the College.

A deadline of March 15 was set to provide the College with proof of your PLI. By March 15, 275 (89%) regulated members had satisfied the requirements of the audit. Of the remaining 33 denturists, 26 had satisfied the requirement by March 30, 2020. This brings the overall compliance by March 31, 2020 to 301 (98%) of the regulated membership.

The College has chosen to use this audit as a learning/remedial opportunity for members who did not understand their regulatory responsibility prior and who had consequently made a false declaration on their registration renewal.

Going forward, and in light of the current global situation, we will still require that the remaining members provide evidence of PLI. Further, non-compliance with the PLI audit conducted next year will have consequences for those members.
