Professional Liability Insurance

As per the Denturists Profession Regulation, all registered denturists must possess their own professional liability insurance (PLI), in order to be registered with the College.  For 2020 renewal and onwards, you are required to obtain your own PLI prior to being registered with the College.

Although the College does not directly manage this for your anymore, it must be diligent in ensuring that all members are compliant with this requirement.  This is a two-step process:

  1. Members ensure that they possess the amount of PLI required by Council and declare at renewal or application that they do possess it for the time period for which they are registering.
  2. The College will be conducting a random audit of a percentage of regulated members to ensure compliance. This audit will be conducted early in the new year.  Selected members will be notified via email.

As a result of the above, it is not necessary for members to provide their PLI certificate to the College at this time.  You may be requested to do this; however, through the audit process.
