
As the College moved through the requirements of Bill 46: The Health Statutes Amendment Act (No.2) 2020, the Standards of Practice have been updated in response to upcoming amendments to the Denturists Profession Regulation. These regulation amendments are expected in Q1 of 2023.
The areas of the Standards that have been updated include those that relate to:
These amendments above do not add any extra requirements for denturists but reflect what is in the current regulations. This is necessary as these sections will be removed from the Denturists Profession Regulation with the upcoming amendments.

These changes are required as per Bill 10: Health Professions (Protecting Women and Girls) Amendment Act, 2022 and speak to the prohibition of the procurement and/or performance of female genital mutilation. Please know that this is a requirement of the law for ALL health Colleges to address this in their Standards of Practice.
The amended Standards of Practice will come into force January 1, 2023.
